I’ve never liked Lupe. Dude is a good rapper, but I feel like his output isn’t very good. When he shines, he shines brightly (“Hurt Me Soul”, etc). But overall, I think he’s kind of a dbag. You get all these folks to lobby on your behalf to release an album. THEN you come out and aren’t even fully supportive of it. What kind of douchebag are you? You say that the label forced you to make this album so it didnt come out like you wanted. You just spit on all your fans who lobbied for it. “Atlantic gave me a release b/c you wanted it but this really aint what I wanted to do. I still had to compromise…so thanks and keep up the good work. The people have spoken.” I guess they just didn’t speak too loudly. I have my reasons. But ultimately, I think he’s overrated as an artist. Maybe not as a lyricist, but as an artist definitely.
